The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is Switzerland's international cooperation agency within the Federal Department of Foreign
Affairs (FOFA). Through its SOC office in Islamabad, Switzerland has been engaged in development cooperation with Pakistan for the last 45 years.
Currently, Switzerland is developing a new programme in KPK and FATA.
To complete its team, the following 2 job vacancies are announced for Pakistani nationals. These are both permanent posWons based in lslamabad with

T) NATIONAL PROGRAMME OFFICER (N PO)
Main Responsibilities:
The National Programme Officer (NPO) contributes to the strategic development and implementation of the overall Pakistan Hindukush Programme.
Under the supervision of the Swiss Cooperation Office Management (Country Director. Deputy Country Director), she/he is responsible for an assigned
domain and manages the respective project/programme portfolio. Among others, she/he is responsible for the following tasks:
. ldenfy and develop project ideas assess potential partners
. Negotiate new phases/projects with partners, actively participate in planning process
. Draft project and programme related documents for submission to HQ as well as agreements and memorandums
. Appraise yearly plan of operations, budget etc. and supervise the flow of funds, ensunng their economical and objective use
. Steerand monitorprojects in liaisonwith implementing partners
. Review and analyse reports submitted by partners, give relevant feedback and discuss the results achieved with partners
. Plan, undertake and documentfield visits, also in remote locations
. Analyse ongoing developments and changes in the assigned domain and report to SOC Management accordingly, highlighting the
relevance for and impact on the SDC programme
. Promote exchange and dialogue with relevant authorities and stakeholders
. Build and foster network of relevant actors, in particular authorities, donors, Civil Society Organisations and national/international NGOs
. Prepare concept notes, policy papers etc.
. Actively participate in SDC events, strate9ic key moments and thematic seminars and contribute to the elaborahon of the
pertinentdocuments such as Mid Year Review andAnnual Report
Requirements:
. Master’s degree in Political Science, Economy, International Development or other relevant field
. Minimum of 5 years ofexperience in development work in a comparable posion
. Excellent communication skills with high level of written and oral faculty of expression in Engi ish and Urdu/Pashto.
. Work experience in the field of Governance and Human Rights
. Praccal experience in project cycle management
. Sound knowledge of results-based planning, monitoring and evaluation methods
. Awareness ofconflict sensitive programme management and gender issues
. Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities
. Thorough understanding ofthe national and regional context (political, economic, social).
. Familiarity with the functioning of the Govern ment of Pakistan and its line d epartments, in particular at the provincial level (KP) and in FATA.
. Willingness to travel to KP and FATA.
. Ability and willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
. Resilient to high workload and ability to work independently and under time pressure.
. Networking, negotiating and advisory skills are an essenhal requirement.
