APPOINTMENT OF JUDICIAL OFFICERS
The Islamabad High Court, Islamabad with assistance ofthe National Testing Service (NTS) is conducting wrítten
competitive examination for which applications on prescribed forms are invited from Pakistani Nationals (both
male 8 female) hailing from the Islamabaci Capital Territory, the provinces of Punjab. Sindh. Balochistan, K. P.K and
FATAto fill in the following temporary posts (likelyto be permanent) ofthe Islamabad Judicial Service.

Note:
Three percent seats shall be reserved across the board forwomen to the posts in the service by direct recruitment
subject to suitability and if sufficient number of women candidates is not available then the reservation shall not
have any operation to the extent of such non-availability whereas there shall also be no carry forward for
reservation in respectofquotaas mentioned above.
E LIG I BILITY: -
Eligibility of the candidates shall be determined according to the criterion laid down in the Istamabad Judicial
Service Rules, 201 1 . If. any of the candidates is found ineligible upon scrutiny of the applications, his application
shall not be entertained, however, his/her name along with the objection shall be displayed on the website of
Islamabad High Court (wy.goy.pç) as well as of NTS (íw nts.orgok) and he/she may raise query within due
date which will be decided by the Secretary NTS whose decision shall be final.
AGE LIMIT:.
. Twenty one to thirty years for Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate and in case of government servants who have
served in connection with the affairs ofthe Federation or Provincial Government. or an officer serving in
the legal department of statutory organization, for a period of not less than three years, the upper age
limitshall be thirty five years.
. In case ofAdditional District & Sessions Judge, in all eventualities, the candidate shall not be less than
35 years or more than 45 years of age.
. The age shall b reckoned as on the last date fixed for submission of application.
qUALlFICILQ ANDXRI4Ç
(I) A candidate must possess a degree in law from a recognized university and have actively been
practicing the profession of law for not less than two years (for the post of Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate) and ten
years (forAdditional District and Sessions Judge) after having been enrolled as an advocate or have served for
such a period in Government service in legal department or of a statutory organization or as District Attorney,
Deputy DistrictAttorney or an Assistant DistrictAttorney or full time prosecutor authorized to conduct prosecution
on behalf ofthe Government or employee of Superior Courts.
(li) To prove active practice, the candidate shall declare by a duly sworn affidavit that he/she has been
actively practicing the profession oflaw during the period oftwo years or ten years as the case may be, preceding
the date of advertisement and during that period he/she has not engaged himself/herself in any other whole time
service, business oroccupation for gain, as the case may be.
CHARACTER CERTIFICATE:-
The Candidates shall produce character certificate from the District Judge of the concerned District in which
he/she has been practising, and in case of candidate normally practising in High Courte from the Registrar of the
concerned High Court, and in other cases, from the head of the department or the organization and shall also
produce character certificates from two other respectable persons of status, not being his/her relatives, who are
well acquainted with his/her private life, character and antecedents.
