APPOINTMENT OF JUDICIAL OFFICERS
The Islarnabad High Court. Islamabad with assistance of the National Testing Service (NTS) Is conducting written
competitive examination for which applications on prescribed forms are invited from Pakistani Nationals (both
male& female)hailingfrom the Islamabad CapitalTerritory, the provinces of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, K.P.K and
FATA to fill in the following temporary posts (likely to be permanent) of the Islamabad Judicial Service.

Note:
Three percent seats shall be reserved across the board br women to the posts in the service by direct recruitment
subject to suitability and if sufficient number of women candidates is not available then the reservation shall not
have any operation to the extent of such non-availability whereas there shall also be no carry forward for
reservation in respectofquota as mentioned above.
E L IGl B I LITY: -
Eligibility of the candidates shall be determined according to the criterion laid down in the lslamabad Judicial
Service Rules, 2011 . If, any of the candidates is found ineligible upon scrutiny of the applications, his application
shall not be entertained, however. hislher name along with the objection shall be displayed on the website of
Islamabad High Court(www.ihc.gov.ok)aswell asofNTS (wwwnts.org.ok)and he/she may raise querywithin due
date which will be decided bythe Secretary NTS whose decision shall be final.
AGE LIMIT:-
. Twenty oneto thirty yearsforCivil Judge-cum-Magistrate and in case ofgovernrnentservants who have
served In connection with the affairs of the Federation or Provincial Government, or an officer serving in
the legal department of statutori organization. for a period of not less than three years. the upper age
limit shall be thirty lIve years.
. In case ofAdditional District & Sessions Judge, in all eventualities, the candidate shall not be less than
35 years or more than 45 years of age.
. The age shall be reckoned as on thelast date fixed forsubmission of application.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPENCE:
(I) A candidate must possess a degree in law from a recognized university and have actively been
practicing the profession of law for not less than two years (for the post of Civil Judge-cum-Magistrate) and ten
years (for Additional District and Sessions Judge) alter having been enrolled as an advocate or have served for
such a period ¡n Government service in Iegai department or of a statutory organization or as District Attorney,
Deputy District Attorney or an Assistant District Attorney or full time prosecutor authorized to conduct prosecution
on behalf ofthe Government or emp’oyee of Superior Courts.
(Ii) To prove active practice, the candidate shall declare by a duly sworn affidavit that helshe has been
actively practicing the profession of law dunng the period of two years or ten years as the case may be, preceding
the date of advertisenient and during that period he/she has not engaged himself/herself in any other whole time
service, business or occupation for gain, as the case may be.
CHARACTER CERTIFICATE:
The Candidates shall produce character certificate from the District Judge of the concerned District in which
he!she has been practising, and ¡n case of candidate normally practlsing in High Court, from the Registrar of the
concerned High Court. and in other cases, from the head of the department or the organization and shall also
produce character certificates from two other respectable persons of status, not being his/her relatives, who are
well acquainted with his/her private life, character and antecedents.
